I never want to have a daughter.

I don’t know if l could watch another woman go through what I and the women before me did.
As a little girl, you learn house chores at the same time you learn academic.
Then puberty hits with pain. You’re taught to remain calm while your internal system was spiraling.
You become an adult, and suddenly you’re reminded of your biological clock. You’re expected to build a career while racing to become a mother, knowing that if you miss that window, nothing could take you back.
Then motherhood comes. While your body and mind are recovering from childbirth, you’re expected to nurture a child at your best. Then you struggle with a major physical change. Some even with major financial burden.
As your children grow, your career, marriage, parents, and your own dreams all compete for the same limited time. Sooner or later, you realize you cannot be an exceptional woman, mother, wife, professional, and daughter all at once. Whatever you choose first will come with judgements and consequences.
Then you welcome menopause, another chapter of physical and emotional changes where you could not say no to. For women, life is a series of transitions. For them, they will die exhausted but in peace.
